File Sharing on Twitter!
We all know this will happen sooner or later. Mashable’s latest article on TwitDoc expose the wish app comes true. Now you can share files with Twitter, both from the web or send it from your desktop by downloading an Adobe Air Desktop Client. The downside? I was secretly hoping it would be embed in like Twitpic and less the hassle. Integrated, integrated! I’m sure someone will do just that and make us tweeps all happy again.
Prior to the birth of TwitDoc, the first service which launches file sharing on Twitter was actually FileTwt. But judging from all the empty advertising slots from the website, I don’t think it was too popular. To be honest, with the likes of SlideShare, Google Doc and Scribd, unless Twitter is able to value-add by perhaps embedding a function that allows a single-click to save files, or a small icon by external apps to do the same, I doubt it will take off in a very big way.
Despite that, I still like the idea of being able to do everything with Twitter. A simple tool made sophisticated to make our lives simpler.
Not following me on Twitter yet? Oh you better! @belindaang
