Contrary to Gordie&#039;s assumption that the geeks who embraced tweeter may start to move on, i believe that they&#039;re still very much planted in the tweeter bubble and will continue to promote the microbloggin tool. A simple testament is the number of twitter apps that have littered the net in 2008. 

Celebrities, sports personalities and politicians embrace tweeter to send our their messages to fans/followers. it&#039;s no wonder that businesses should embrace this as part of their CRM/marketing/sales strategies. 

Twitter is here to stay. With sms and data costs coming down quick, it will only help accelerate the growth of twitter.</description>

The thing is... companies use Twitter as a traditional advertising tool. But what they don&#039;t realise is that, &quot;advertising&quot; works no more. I think companies must establish their presence as a symbolism of their desire to listen. Not clutter every possible space there is to simply spam consumers into buying their products. Probably this can be said the same for all social media platforms. Many companies don&#039;t realise it doesn&#039;t works the same as traditional advertising or PR.

I certainly hope the creators of Twitter will find greater developments without losing the original objective to Twitter. Groups is a nice idea, hope it doesn&#039;t explode to become FB2 though. I can&#039;t decide who is copying who now. Haha!</description>

I first want to say it&#039;s great to see you&#039;ve moved your blog to under your own domain name. Very easy to remember now.

Twitter definitely is a tool that can be used for customer service by businesses of all sizes. However, it&#039;s being used more to just plug their own products and services. The noise of people just plugging their own site and business on Twitter seems to be swelling into a tidal wave. The Twitter stream is looking more and more spammy.

Anyway, back on point, if companies stopped plugging to the masses so much and started approaching individuals on Twitter, I think they could get some people to join their tribe of followers. 

I think Twitter is at a crossroads with some suggesting that it has peaked in its effectiveness and the original geeks who made Twitter such a great community may start to move on. 

It will be interesting to see how Twitter deals with its phenomenal growth. Will they introduce groups like Facebook so people can escape the noise? Who knows? 

Anyway, great post as usual Belinda. Looking forward to your next one already.</description>
